Woman to Woman Mentor Training

As a survivor of a gynecologic cancer, would you like to support other women going through treatment?

Woman to Woman Mentor Training • Saturday, October, 22, 2022

Our Woman to Woman mentor program pairs newly diagnosed gynecologic cancer patients, or patients who are currently in treatment, with survivors who provide understanding, hope, support, and encouragement. If you’ve had a gynecologic cancer diagnosis and are one-year post-treatment, consider becoming a volunteer mentor.

As one mentor said, “I believe being able to talk to someone who really understands your situation is priceless. I wished I’d had that kind of support when I went through treatment several years ago.”

Mentors are matched to new patients based on cancer diagnosis, age, cultural background, and patient preferences, providing a perspective that can only come from another woman with a similar diagnosis – someone who has “been there – done that.”

As a mentor you have the option to accept or decline a match depending on your availability as well as the opportunity to participate in the Survivor Network, a monthly meeting where you will connect with other mentors and receive ongoing training related to community resources, self-care measures, and coping strategies that will benefit both you and your mentee.
